HER
What could I possibly say about this movie, that can do it any justice!! I smiled when he smiled. I wept when he wept. And I was left palpitating in dismay and panic, when Samantha deserted him. Loneliness is the tallest gallows one could ever encounter. You’d just be hanging in there. Haha, as fun as it would seem from the outset, it kills you on the inside. Can’t breathe. You’d hate to open your eyes, as the noose of reality might choke your eyeballs out of their sockets. A confused thick clog of pain blobbing its way through your constrained oesophagus.
The story is woven with intricacies of love and relationships. When Theodore slowly falls for Samantha, byte by byte, it is perhaps the bite-the-bait period of a relationship… when the mouse finds the cheese, smells it good and nourishing. I agree, its a bad simile, coz the mouse is going to lose just its life. Women, on the other hand, bleach your brains in acid and vacuum your heart of every mm of life and existence, all while they smile n giggle.
What started as a review, side tracked in to a rant on love. The movie eclipses you in to becoming Theodore himself.. chanting his lines, and when he breaks down. Most of the time goes about in thinking about her, about the magic that we shared. And it transfuses in to rivulets of tears. The sheer panic of postulating multitude theories to understand why she had aborted me out of her life. And the ever vanishing hope, whether she’d ever relive those memoirs.
Why can’t life just move on? Why can’t it shrug every memory of her? Why should she sneak herself in to every gal i meet? Why should my mind frantically search glimpses of her in everything living or dead… won't she know that? is she even aware that i’d be still missing her? why should she leave me? Why can't life just move on?
Oops. Like these.. You might run into endless loops figuring out whether it is Theodore or you. And within that loop wondering, where you end and where Theo begins, is an entire story altogether. You would probably never have heard of Arcade Fire or their music. But thats acceptable. I hadn't either. But to traverse those endless loops, their music helps. The colour tone, and the hipster looks, add to the magic of Spike Jonze’s marvel.
Again, what could I possibly say about this movie, that can do it any frigging justice!!! Watch it! May be once or more, but miss it not !!
