Jessie

Rating: 5/5
Infliction of pain upon one's soul is the most addictive entertainment ever known to man. Love, in all its glory, puts him right in centre of that pain & makes him laugh n cry at the same moment. Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya re-kindles the lover in you. It moves your heart so much, that you end up crying even while taking a bath… or even while jogging to its music…
It's magical, as Karthik keeps telling throughout the movie. Every sec of the movie is woven with love. Rahman's music crushes the soul and just makes my heart throb. Lighting & camerawork is awesome. By the way, I would like to enquire the guys on the sets, what is the significance of the number 8004(Ref: GVM 8004 on the ship set in a song). The alphabets GVM was so obvious. No marks for guessing director's name. But is 8004 a date?? April, 1980?? Did something happen to GVM then??
The central park scene alone is enough to prove Simbu's acting prowess vis-à-vis the director's story telling. "Ava peru Jessie, Jessie!" is one line which will make you burst out – with tears flowing hot from your eyes. Simbu has matured a lot from his earlier movies or should I assume GVM has extracted every penny's worth out of him. Trisha is like a breeze, when she comes in those printed - patterned sarees. Oh man! It's not true that only girls are inconsistent. I have seen personally many guys who are inconsistent too.
I wish I could just talk to Trisha... reason out n convince her not to marry a dumbass in US. I wish I could do a whole lot of things. But hey, perhaps, it is the way it is meant to be. Simbu would have never made it big if he had hooked up with her… or maybe he would've made it even bigger… I leave it to the gods.
Lovely is 1 word for this movie. So is, awesome, romantic, brilliant, heart-wrenching, er.. that's a lot of words. Yet, this movie is sweet n simple. N deserves every word of appreciation. But the most fitting word would be "Magical" as Karthik puts it…
I'd love to watch this again n again n again…
