Reckless auto manufacturers

Image
Why is there no child lock on the driver's side door?    Last night I almost wrecked my wife's car, because of this security lapse by irresponsible car manufacturers. Good that the other vehicle was only a parked SUV. I was on the way to ibaco, from my girlfriend's place at Chetpet, with her 4yo to buy him some ice-cream. I, as a matter of principle, abhor displaying any kind of physical intimacy before kids. Also, I've generally observed that 6 spoons of cough syrup mixed in milk, is enough to keep the child sedated for 4 hours. Unfortunately, he woke up in 3 hrs. Whether he's growing resistant to the dosage or does these syrups degenerate post their expiry dates, is an altogether different question which I have to take up with the pharmaceutical industry. As a result, I had to leave her house in haste before sobering up. But I've had 8 rounds of vodka and driven back home safely several times before. So it wasn't my immediate concern.  I...

An exposition on Mersalayitten

Mersalayitten, I, 2014 Album Artist: A R Rahman Singers: Anirudh Ravichander, Neeti Mohan Lyrics: Kabilan If I have to nit pick, the pronunciation during the course of the song would beg it to be transliterated as merasalayitten. Since, that extra ‘a’ didn't hamper the beauty of the song, I’ll choose to overlook that. Duh! Grumpy me. Oh! And.. A word of caution here. I am just on a spree to record as many thoughts as possible here about this marvellous song/word/lyrics. So there won’t be any order or coherence. Not that it matters. Nor does any of my other posts do. But still, remember, you were cautioned. Well, no body needs to understand the meaning of a song, to enjoy it. That said, it would be a great travesty to love this song, sans analysis though. So, as a native tamil speaker myself, I ventured in to researching the song’s titular word - mersalayitten. no marks for guessing it to be a madras slang. Though having used this word (context irrelevant he...

Rating: 5/5 What could I possibly say about this movie, that can do it any justice!! I smiled when he smiled. I wept when he wept. And I was left palpitating in dismay and panic, when Samantha deserted him. Loneliness is the tallest gallows one could ever encounter. You’d just be hanging in there. Haha, as fun as it would seem from the outset, it kills you on the inside. Can’t breathe. You’d hate to open your eyes, as the noose of reality might choke your eyeballs out of their sockets. A confused thick clog of pain blobbing its way through your constrained oesophagus.   The story is woven with intricacies of love and relationships. When Theodore slowly falls for Samantha, byte by byte, it is perhaps the bite-the-bait period of a relationship… when the mouse finds the cheese, smells it good and nourishing. I agree, its a bad simile, coz the mouse is going to lose just its life. Women, on the other hand, bleach your brains in acid and vacuum your heart of every mm of ...

Rating: 5/5 Infliction of pain upon one's soul is the most addictive entertainment ever known to man. Love, in all its glory, puts him right in centre of that pain & makes him laugh n cry at the same moment. Vinnaithaandi Varuvaya re-kindles the lover in you. It moves your heart so much, that you end up crying even while taking a bath… or even while jogging to its music… It's magical, as Karthik keeps telling throughout the movie. Every sec of the movie is woven with love. Rahman's music crushes the soul and just makes my heart throb. Lighting & camerawork is awesome. By the way, I would like to enquire the guys on the sets, what is the significance of the number 8004(Ref: GVM 8004 on the ship set in a song). The alphabets GVM was so obvious. No marks for guessing director's name. But is 8004 a date?? April, 1980?? Did something happen to GVM then?? The central park scene alone is enough to prove Simbu's acting prowess vis-à-vis the director's story tell...
